Non-Residents Opening a Louisiana Succession
Even if you're not a Louisiana resident, you can still open a Louisiana Succession and be appointed Administrator, if you're eligible. An Administrator is usually the surviving spouse, a heir or legatee, or a creditor of the deceased. If you're eligible to be appointed Administrator, you will only need to file one additional document to be appointed Administrator: Appointment of Agent for Service of Process. Our attorneys can help you open a Succession and become Administrator whether you live in Louisiana or not.
